lue i Properties was started in 2007 to provide a quality based management service for local student lets, using the considerable experience, knowledge and landlord contacts in the local Derby letting market gained over many years.

The company is now being managed by William and Maryvonne Barron. We are landlords ourselves as we have our own student and commercial property in Derby and bring have over 30 years’ experience of buying, refurbishing and letting property in the UK, and surprisingly even in Brazil, to the business.

We currently look after around 140 properties across Derby with the core of these being student properties located around the university campuses. The business has grown organically through reputation and we are now widely regarded as one of the best student accommodation providers in the city.

There are five of us involved in the day to day running of the letting business, so you know exactly who you are dealing with when you call or visit us. The result is that we get to know you quickly as a tenant or as a landlord, enabling us to give you a really personal service with tea, coffee and biscuits.

In alphabetical order the team looks like this:

Diane, joined us some fifteen months ago following maternity leave from another agent in Derby. She has worked for many years in professional letting and her roll is mainly dealing with the accounts, rent payments, tenant arrears and liaising with landlords. She is also a very steady pair of hands and her counsel can be relied upon when dealing with tricky challenges.

Izzi, joined us direct from University in July 2012 and is responsible for implementing the Marketing, Internet and Social Media strategies. Blessed with a photographic memory Izzi is able to remember most rooms of every house and many of the tenants… an amazing talent.

Leanne, also joined us direct from University in May 2013 and is helping William get to grips with the repairs and maintenance systems. Helped by being extra quick on the keyboard and a strong “can do” attitude her day is chock block full of activity.

Lorraine, with many years of experience in the letting sector is our admin guru and keeps all the tenancies and landlord paperwork up to date and correct. She can be recognised by being the soft positive voice on the phone and seems to know everyone who has ever down business with Blue i.

William with his wife Maryvonne bought the business in June 2013, is slowly learning about all the houses and getting to grips with Blue i’s Gemini CRM system. With a letting property background going back 35 years, he has also renovated and refurbished many houses and can often be seen lugging his extensive tool box around and often wielding his orange B&D drill.
